zSnap

SynapLink presents zSnap as a screenshot and image-sharing utility. With a simple mouse click you can take a screenshot of a rectangular area; resize and place zSnap’s capture window anywhere you want on the screen, then click the green button to take a screenshot. After it takes a screenshot, zSnap uploads it to imgur and then it copies the imgur URL to your clipboard. Paste it in your browser to view the screenshot, give the URL to others so they can view it.

zSnap provides support for Windows Vista, 7 and 8. It does not provide support for Windows XP. A straightforward setup wizard will help you install zSnap on a PC that runs Vista or newer. As you click through the setup wizard, you’ll notice that the option to automatically run zSnap at startup is enabled by default.

While zSnap is running, you’ll see its icon in the system tray. Click the icon and a window with 4 butons will show up:
Take screenshot – click this button to bring up the rectangular capture window; resize it and place it on top of whatever you want to capture.
Upload from clipboard – whatever is copied to the clipboard will be uploaded to the web.
Upload from file – select a file and it will be uploaded to the web.
Preferences – pick an image hosting service (imgur, picBox, plain FTP), configure the host, check for updates, create backups of uploaded images, log successful uploads, quit zSnap.

zSnap is free software.

Take a screenshot, upload it to the web, then paste the screenshot’s URL into an IM window or into an email. Thanks to zSnap you can quickly take and conveniently share screenshots.
